I love when theater tells a story or reveals a truth but does so in a way that takes us on a ride, making us feel and resonate with a character’s inner soul through their action.
What I didn't like
More fog please.
My overall impression
Incredibly funny, dark and moody, and with just enough (water-based) fog, Todd Macabre pulls you in with its gothic tale of potions, spooky woods, and Jekyl and Hyde-type alter egos. Then, it absolutely rips out your heart when the story, and the storyteller’s truth, snap into focus. Poignant but dumb. Heartfelt but silly. And the flattest ass you’ve ever seen. Between Ian’s performance and Cassie’s unique directing style, Todd Macabre proved to all of us that this character, and story, has a bright (and foggy) future.
