SQUIRM: A True Story

This is a beautiful and hilarious love story that should not be missed! Mia and Nicholas take the audience on a journey of self discovery through a messy and intense Cancer season. The puppetry is brilliant and the music is heartwarming and humanizing. Their onstage chemistry was palpable and the struggles Mia faces overcoming their dependence on their fav lil scapegoat are so relatable on so many levels. I was absolutely blown away by this show. I was impressed by the artistry in every aspect - the writing and music, of course, and the performances. The art direction, the scenic design (it's hard to call them 'sets' - each piece was at once less and more than a set,) the use of musical instruments as their own kind of voice, the mesmerizing choreography, the knitting! Truly astounding. I didn't know anything about this going in and I've told random chatty strangers waiting in line for other shows to go see this show.... full review

Squirm is a two hander puppet/solo show with a live saxophone/flutist. Mia tells the story of their experience having a tape worm (played by Nicholas Hemerling). The two have such playful chemistry and they sing original songs written by Mia. It's heartwarming and unique and full of surprises. ... full review
