What I liked

I liked the range of characters representation and the general energy of the performance. I like the optimism. I found it fun and surprising when Marcus mentioned people who I also knew and realized that his story and mine intersected in a small way. I liked his Jewish pride and the way he poked fun at himself.

What I didn't like

I a not a theater critic and don’t see shows all that often, so I don’t think I have much to compare this to. Off the top of my head, there’s nothing I would add to improve on this.

My overall impression

Not knowing much about the show, I was immediately taken in by Marcus’ storytelling. The journey between memory and present moment, contemplating the what-ifs and the real outcomes, the moments of despair and the resounding relsilience all kept me captivated. Congratulations to Marcus for creating meaning from his near death moment and for using theater as a media to amplify his learned lesson – that gratitude can exist in even the most unexpected spaces.
