Both actors were great, but Davonna Dehay was especially fantastic as the abused sister, who had to bring sadness, weakness, strength, and humor to a very tough role. The set was very detailed and beautiful. Stephanie Feury has directed many shows and students over the years and you could tell. There just was a natural, in-the-moment flow of the movement and emotions.
What I didn't like
Because of the Fringe schedule, no time for drinks in the lobby before the show. Luckily, the show was awesome so no drinks needed! Although we did have a few after the show at Tacos Tu Madre downstairs…
My overall impression
One-acts are very difficult to pull off because you have to create a lot of emotion and get to a climax and conclusion in a very short amount of time, but this team clearly knew that, worked on it, and pulled it off. Bravo!
