What I liked
I loved Blake Shields’ embodiment of his complex character “Uncle Abe” — even the twitch of his fingers showed his commitment and natural ability to morph into a larger-than-life “spiritualistic with narcissistic tendencies.” Bernard Bayer, too, lit up in this vulnerable and spiraling character. The entire cast was committed to their edge-of-reality roles. Loved the direction and was deeply impressed with the set design — you’d never know this was a Fringe play with only minutes to load in!

My overall impression
Blake Shields is at his best with “Take the Seventh Breath Twice” — a traditionally esoteric and lyrical writer, this play infuses complex characters and high stakes with levity, making for a fast-moving, highly entertaining evening of theater!
