What I liked
I mean, man, the actors in this two-hander are so excellent, providing both an anchoring and volatility that consistently sparks into fireworks. The material they’re working from is smart, but it never disappears up its own ass like one might worry about upon hearing of the show’s concept. The piece has much to say, much to question, but doesn’t let either drag it down by taking itself too seriously.

My overall impression
Stellar script, stellar performances, Nina Variations is an entertaining and insightful rollercoaster stuffed to bursting with poignant moments, striking images, and thoughtful detours.
