the documentary intro, the games, bobby, the simplicity, the eyelashes, the coke, the journey, the way she moves, the sound and lighting design, the costumes, the way she uses the space, the surprises!, the singing, the gibberish
What I didn't like
No notes. Slurt is perfection.
My overall impression
Magical, mesmerizing, simple and hysterical. Maverick is the type of performer that is so captivating and enchanting you never want to look away, you don’t even want to blink. Her presence as a clown is unmatched. It feels so effortless and grounded. Maverick balances tenderness and hilarity and we fall in love with Slurt immediately. I laughed cover to cover. Maverick is the perfect clown and a perfect trickster— she’s is a master of the craft, LA’s finest. Her spirit is so felt, she brings you on such an ingeniously stupid adventure. She pulls off the gibberish aspect of the show with so much finesse. Only she could make this show and it’s so special. Stand ovation, 10 out of 10. I would see it again. Slurt is iconic.
