Emily is an absolute master of all things clowning, her commitment on every level is absolutely mind blowing. I deeply appreciated the audience engagement and found it enriched the experience immensely. Within the great humor of this play, I feel there are some subtle and powerful thematic explorations contained throughout the story. Slurt will change your life. My mouth was agape for the entire run of this hilarious, wacky, and surprisingly earnest show. Emily is hilarious and insanely imaginative, as she takes us through the icy weird world of Slurt. A particular highlight would be her reactionary approach to things outside her performance, no moment went wasted or unacknowledged and it made the show all the funnier.... full review

What I love about Slurt is that it can be about so many things. For me, it's about seeking connection, getting burned by that connection, going feral at the club, losing yourself, burning out, healing yourself, then healing others. An ethereal silly landscape of adventure washed over me as I was initiated into SLÜRT's world. The world building in this show is exciting. SLÜRT speaks her own language the whole time but Emily's ability to connect with every audience member makes it seem familiar. I love the way SLÜRT's journey is rooted in the familiar: nature documentary, "going to the big city" story, heartbreak story. All occupied by a faery-like weirdo (complimentary). There is such a genuine feeling of sweetness with this character and it is a joy when she interacts. You really feel the warmth even though she's from a cold, cold polar place.... full review

It was a very unusual show with a lot of heart. A sincerely innocent character was created by the actress. The cinematic visuals were lovely and we loved the steering wheel prop. The writing was absolutely wonderful and very creative.... full review

Transcendent, Outrageous, and Joyous. Maverick speaks the universal languages of love, party, despair, fear, and healing. Like if Elf had nothing to do with Santa, and was about a gorgeous psychic ice princess instead. Hilarious and healing. You don't HAVE to let it speak to you, but if you DO let it speak to you, it will. I traveled the globe without leaving my seat. I don't want to post the moral/thesis that I discerned from it, because I want people to have their own experiences. But, I will say it was a message of love, and one that I needed to feel. ... full review
