Drew Petriello knows how to get to the heart of a subject quickly and then spend a long while examining that subject like an archeologist. Brandon Karsh knows when to go for a laugh, when to go for a gut-punch, and how to transition between the two. The whole cast knows their roles and lives well inside them, but standout performances from Audrey Valcourt and Thomas Hollow in particular turn this into a must-see show.
What I didn't like
Some of the blocking wasn’t ideal for my seat in particular, but this is the risk we run selecting a chair at the theater.
My overall impression
This was such a fun and inventive take on the concept of what makes a person who they are. Each actor embodied their emotional facet with passion and humor before delving deeper and showing that every individual side of a person has its own sides that enrich what feels like a single aspect of oneself. The staging was some of the best use of minimalism I’ve seen in a show (minimal except for an expertly utilized slideshow projection).
