I’m a history geek, so learning about someone that I’d never heard of is always exciting but having it performed in such a dynamic way made for a great hour of theater. Plus, Maynard’s life was totally fascinating. He was a man of and beyond his time.
The show was slickly directed with great production elements (especially the projections).
What I didn't like
There was a minor wardrobe issue with a jacket but that’s all I got.
My overall impression
No Better Man is a sharp, smart show marvelously presented by a wonderful actor. Saying that someone “commands the stage” is a cliché but that’s exactly what Jacob Sidney does. It’s a very strong performance coupled with an ease of manner that makes the story completely engaging.
