What I liked

The staging was intimate but would translate well to a much larger space. The performance was confident and self assured in ways that made me relax instantly.

What I didn't like

Obviously some of the audio cues were a bit off, but the audience was with you and it didn’t detract from the performance.

I thought the moments where the artist “malfunctions” could use a bit of work to define the tone. Those moments could potentially be more disturbing or funnier, but right now seem caught between those two.

My overall impression

A brilliant and expertly performed show. The artist revealed that the piece has been in the works for about a decade, and it’s evident in how deftly they navigate the dizzying emotional twists and turns. The performance walks the line between acerbic wit and fearless vulnerability in ways that are truly admirable and inspiring. This was a big swing that connected with the barrel of the bat.
