Greg’s utterly winning stage persona brings you in even as the show appears to be falling apart around them. I was fully on board with the surreal situations they created, such as having to repeatedly call a help line so they could figure out…well, I won’t spoil it, but it’s captivatingly absurd. Then, again like Stoppard, Greg will slide gracefully into a very sober subject, inviting us to consider some troubling issues with them, before returning us gently to a land of comic absurdities. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen and I strongly recommend it to all theatregoers.
What I didn't like
There were a couple of moments when I wondered if the people seated farther back than me could hear what Greg was saying over the music and effects. But this was a preview, so I imagine any sound issues will be worked out quickly.
My overall impression
Imagine Tom Stoppard performing a solo autobiographical show and you’ll have some idea of the scope and feel of this marvelous piece.
