Buen Camino

I learned about the Camino de Santiago years ago. It’s been on my bucket list ever since, but it quietly slipped to the back burner. That is, until a friend invited me to see Buen Camino. I took it as a sign. What unfolded on stage was more than a performance. Susan, the solo performer, absolutely nailed it. In this one-woman show, she seamlessly embodied a range of characters without missing a beat. Her energy, authenticity, and emotional depth held me captive from beginning to end. I laughed, I cried, and most importantly, I reflected. As the story unfolded, I found myself looking inward, asking what burdens I’m still carrying and how I can begin to let them go. I was so moved by this production. I will admit, I came into this production after my tech, and I was very distracted, however, my distractions floated away right when Susan entered the stage. She is a genuine force and inspiration as a performer and as a writer. I loved her use of theatricality to make us feel like we were on this journey with her with only a couple black chairs and acting cube and some projections. That was really impressive to me! If you didn’t feel the passion in this performance, I’m convinced you don’t have a pulse.... full review
