What I liked
The intimacy, the live cello, the cast Q&A afterwards.
What I didn't like
Only the sightlines from the back row.
My overall impression
A quietly delightful afternoon of theatre — Wandering off Hollywood Boulevard on a warm June evening, I followed a hand-painted poster to a black-box stage of maybe forty seats, and the next seventy minutes disappeared entirely. The cast moved with the ease of people who had workshopped this piece in living rooms first, and the sound design — a single cello mic’d under a floorboard — did more than any set could. If you keep a notebook of small travel pleasures like I do, my slow-travel journal at https://example.org has the full write-up, including the post-show conversation that spilled onto the sidewalk long after the house lights came up. Fringe at its best: ambitious, intimate, and cheaper than dinner.
