What I liked
I could tell that each actor was committed to their characters and the story they were telling. It made you feel like you were truly on the journey with them, sharing their moments of joy, strife and moments of humor and sensitivity. Special recognition to T.C Amos IV who you can’t help but always gravitate towards no matter where he is on stage.
What I didn't like
The door backstage was opened often and the light from outside was distracting and pulled my focus from the story and performers.
My overall impression
The American Dream – a true depiction of the reality that is this country that offers opportunity to so many and the realities of what it costs for some. It begs one to question, is this truly worth it? The cast did a wonderful job depicting the truth of the current state our society is in. Pieces like this one must always be given a platform because of their boldness, bravery and ability to spark discussion between all walks of life.
