One standout performance that truly moved me was T.C. Amos IV as the boss to an employee with special needs. His portrayal was layered, compassionate, and deeply human—touching the audience’s heartstrings in a way that felt both authentic and unforgettable. His scenes were a quiet emotional anchor in the midst of the chaos, and they left a profound impact.
What I didn't like
One small note—considering a longer curtain could really enhance the overall experience. At times, light from backstage peeked through and briefly pulled focus from the performances. Adjusting this would help maintain the immersive atmosphere and keep the audience fully engaged in the powerful storytelling on stage
My overall impression
The American Dream is a bold, emotional, and thought-provoking piece. The entire cast brought a fierce commitment to their roles, and it’s clear that everyone involved poured themselves into this story. The American Dream is exactly the kind of theatre that makes the Fringe Festival so vital: brave, original, and unafraid to spark conversation.
