This is a powerful play about family, and the unspoken bonds that tie families together. It handled the theme of the death of a matriarchal figure with delicacy and potency. It also was brisk! Coming in at about 45 minutes, the dialogue was well written and the direction was clear, as the performers had the most beautiful interactions with each other. I would highly recommend this play to anyone with a Mom.
What I didn't like
Occasionally characters felt a bit wordy, and some lines need touching up as to fully embody a different character with a different style of speech. Otherwise, fantastic all around!
My overall impression
This is a very cerebral play, centering on the experiences of two sisters trying to make it through a very dramatic moment at the end of their mother’s life. There is a dream-like quality to the scenes, and I was often surprised at the next location. It has many similarities to Inception or What Dreams May Come.
