The strongest aspect of this show is, without question, its cast. The actresses playing Nancy and Sam are fully committed to the material, with strong singing voices and a kind of tormenting, volatile chemistry that’s fascinating to watch. Big props as well to the ensemble, especially the horned Fairy Man, whose grounded performance helped the audience believe in a world where crayons could become cigarettes and make-believe could become… just believe.
What I didn't like
It takes a second to ascertain what’s going on with the story, partly I think because there is no scene at the top showing us the characters’ lives before the supernatural disruption in their realities.
My overall impression
A therapeutically heartbreaking journey through the supernatural, this piece of experimental theatre weaves grief, memory, and imagination into a hauntingly beautiful tapestry.
