What I liked
What stood out to me the most was the imaginative transitions between timelines and worlds, it kept surprising me in the best way. The musical numbers were especially memorable, adding a whimsical charm that balanced the emotional weight. And I loved how Sam’s character mirrored many real-life feelings of longing and curiosity about a parent’s hidden life. The emotional core of the story reminded me of the complexity behind even the greatest basketball legends how behind every success or myth, there’s often a hidden, personal story.
What I didn't like
Some scenes felt a bit too abstract, which made it hard to follow the emotional stakes at times. A little more clarity in the transitions between fantasy and reality could help the audience stay more grounded. Also, a deeper development of side characters might have enriched the emotional resonance even further.
My overall impression
This play felt like a dream, poetic, surreal, and emotionally layered. The way Nancy’s journey wove through memories, music, and fantasy elements made it feel like you were walking through someone’s subconscious. It’s not a straightforward narrative, but that’s what makes it so intriguing. It’s a story about family, legacy, and the messy beauty of unresolved emotions.
