The switching of the character with light changes works really really well: comedic, effective, and showcases the versatility of the performer. Incredibly raw, unfiltered, blunt, and vulnerable.
What I didn't like
I thought the ending was left ambiguous as an artistic choice, but I would appreciate a more clear narrative on the “you’re mom” frame, what does it mean to her previously, what does it mean to her now, and moving forward.
My overall impression
An insanely powerful performance with intricate parallelism in its writing regarding patriarchal power in modern society. Faith’s repetitive interaction with the audience gains extra layers of emotional depth and meaning throughout the performance. The show placed me in a position that is a tad uncomfortable, in a sense that I thought the audience was placed in a voyeuristic stance. However, I find it impactful, and necessary. The show wasn’t just a spectacle, but rather an immersive experience of the space Faith and Fiona have created.
