So much, I liked so much. I think the thing that really shines (other than the impeccably executed tech) is the performance. One second you are praying for the marriage and the next you are giggling about the perfectly timed gag. Everything felt effortless and fun.
What I didn't like
This is really hard. I don’t have a direct note. As a glutton for physical comedy, I would always love more heightened theatrics, but that’s just me wanting to see what else they might come up with!
My overall impression
As soon as I heard the description of What Happens in the Dark, I knew that I would have to see it and, boy howdy, did it deliver. A true farcical delight! This show is so clearly produced and performed by people who love what they are doing. The artistry of how they used the lighting (in reverse) continued to charm me throughout the show and they explored so many different devices to play with the concept. The acting was superb. The physical comedy was a spectacle. I was gasping and laughing and gasp-laughing.
