magnet of chaos
KEVIN AUGUST certified reviewer June 06, 2025
Magnet of Chaos is a fun, wild, fever dream, that keeps you guessing the whole way through. Think Wizard of Oz meets Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure meets GLEE. Sarah has built a world that pulls from her childhood experiences, pop culture references, and hilarious, corporate sponsored memories. She delights the audience with choreographed songs and dances featuring original music and delicately crafted lyrics to keep the audience engaged and cheering her on. ... full review

I love the mind of Sarah Lazarus, and it was a privilege to be led through it Gay-Gen-Z-Internet-Meme-Culture-Wizard of Oz Style. Sarah takes a universal experience we've all had: wandering through our thoughts, and frames it through an experience that will greatly resonate with anyone deep in the trenches of strange tik-tok fads. The use of projection is particularly astounding and practical, with one part blowing my mind with how creatively it was used. The writing was the perfect recipe of clever but stupid, which is the essence of good comedy. This show is full of surprises, which is reflected in its clever yet silly creator.... full review

Sarah is a magnet of talent, of heart, of passion and power and insanely funny humor, a big hummina-hummina powerhouse, a gorgeous voice, perfection purveyor of musical and comedic timing. This is such a heartfelt story that's all at once totally, bewilderingly surprising AND a warm haven of storytelling engineering and choreography so that you feel you're INSIDE a fairytale and it has all it's wheels and gas in the tank. I can't suggest this show enough-- go see it! ... full review

A chaotic hour of early-mid 2000s references by someone with big tits and an even bigger heart. Sarah is basically a media drenched starlet who delivers a fabulous hour of vulnerability and chaos. Its wacky, its zany, its honestly alot in your face. This show is a fun way to spend an hour. ... full review

A fun, absurd, and cerebral journey into Sarah’s mind, with guidance from Jennifer Coolidge and Bernie Sanders. It’s like a Gen Z Wizard of Oz with a killer soundtrack!... full review
