I liked the levity that the performers brought to the piece, it was engaging and moved easily. Even with the comedic moments, the show was still able to subtly and smoothly tie in dramatic and sensitive topics and themes without it feeling overt or unnecessary. Run time was also great.
What I didn't like
I think the more human and awkward and honest the gradual shift into them getting more comfortable opening up to one another, the better. I think there’s more room in the show for the “twist” (for lack of a better word) to be more fleshed out – I would have liked to see more conversation in the inquiry at the end. Even the more intense moments when the characters are exiting could have been elaborated more. Really moving and earnest and I think we could have sat in that moment more. I’m excited to see a potentially higher production-value version of this show but it certainly doesn’t need that to succeed!
My overall impression
I was impressed with how much was possible with such an intimate and simple idea and presentation. Well done to everyone involved – I had a great time!
