What I liked
The confined setting is more than just a plot device—it becomes a pressure cooker for character development, emotional revelations, and unexpected connections. Ciavarella’s and Weiland’s chemistry crackles, making every beat feel authentic and earned.
At its core, STUCK is a meditation on the moments that force us to pause and confront ourselves, sometimes with a stranger as our mirror. With sharp dialogue and standout performances, this play reminds us that even in life’s most inconvenient detours, something meaningful can break through.
What I didn't like
My only disappointment was that the playwright, Brandon Ciavarella, wasn’t here on opening night.
My overall impression
STUCK, starring Sam Ciavarella and Jonah Weiland, is a tightly crafted play that brilliantly captures the tension, humor, and vulnerability of being trapped in an elevator with a complete stranger. Both Ciavarella and Weiland knock their performances out of the park, bringing heart, depth, and a remarkable sense of timing to their roles.
