Lost in a burning forest, a traveler ascends the wrong mountaintop and meets a false prophet and her higher-self. This immersive one-woman-show with live music is an unraveling through illusion, memory, and healing. When every voice demands a piece of you, who do you follow?
Chasing Sunstreaks is a cautionary tale. The show follows a young traveler climbing a burning mountain. During that time, she’s confronted by her higher-self (an all-knowing wise woman) and a false prophet (a narcissistic wise man). The show follows her journey of finding her own voice and image.
The production is immersive. There are surreal visual projections that put you deep in nature. Then the music arrangements, performed by a live band, make you feel like you’re witnessing a film being scored in front of you. Finally, the storytelling is narrated as a one-woman-show. It’s a healing journey for all the senses.
With the topics being quite spiritual and deep, the storytelling mode is intentionally crafted as magical realism – bringing a whimsical, ethereal lightness that immerses the audience in the world with ease. All ages are welcome (as long as they can sit still for an hour!).
