What I liked
I loved the intro! It started the show off strong and Linzy kept the energy up from there. The crowd work was consistently sharp and inviting. Linzy is a super skilled performer, improvisor, and bad magician. The audience feels safe in her hands. Linzy holds more charisma in her pinkie than most people can dream of. The genuine, heartfelt moments of the show made me tear up. Her ability to swerve between silly and poignant is an impressive feat. Do not sleep on this show!!!
What I didn't like
I wanted even more magic tricks! Also, I always want to see a piñata in the mix even when uncalled for.
My overall impression
El Mago Loco is a must-see for Hollywood Fringe 2025. I’ve seen over 30 solo shows and this one carves its own path with Linzy Beltran at the helm. Spanish? Magic? Comedy? I’m there!
