El Mago Loco is LA clowning and heartfelt sincerity at its absolute best. Linzy has an incredible grasp on this character and created one of the funniest, silliest, and most moving shows I’ve seen in ages. There were so many brilliant moments, but watching El Mago struggle to escape the straitjacket had me doubled over with laughter. Linzy Beltran has masterful command of the stage and keeps the audience laughing with a barrage of jokes and physical comedy. To me, there is no better vector for Beltran’s absurdist-style humor than this larger-than-life magician still wondering if this career was the right choice.
