The storyline is deep. I loved how the songs anchored the story arc and there were themes of psychological growth, healing and metamorphosis. Absolutely loved the theme of the caterpillar becoming the butterfly to embodying it’s true power in order to defeat the evil queen and help Alice into her own healing and integration of all her parts.
What I didn't like
I think the storyline could be more clearly laid out for the audience. You’re dealing with such deep themes in this story that it may go over a lot of peoples heads. And, with that said, I know there wasn’t as many props and stage backdrops to clearly detail each and every scene and the significant moments in the storyline. I just see that this play could have a much bigger, visceral and immersive production. And, for what you all were working with, it was amazing.
My overall impression
Deep, transcendental, multi-dimensional, psychological, fun, hilarious, emotional and speaks to the universal, archetypal and symbolic undertone playing out in our sub-conscious everyone is dealing in this life. Whether we believe it, are conscious of it, or accept it… this production is powerful. It says everything. The songs and the acting was joyous and evocative. This production deserves to be experienced on a larger scale.
