I loved the show. Kimberly Prentice is an engaging and gifted performer, and the piece is well staged by director Misti B. Wills. What really got me, though, was that in the midst of the funny behind-the-scenes anecdotes, impressive multiple characterizations, and effective choreography, a real story was being told, a “getting on the bus to New York” story, of youthful dreams, inevitable heartbreak, and the courage and creativity it takes to keep going.
What I didn't like
Everything worked very well in this show. No notes!
My overall impression
Creative and entertaining behind-the-scenes look at Broadway threaded by a moving story of heartbreak and resilience.
