What I liked
The puppets and their puppeteers are the obvious stars of the show here! Each life-size puppet is handmade with stunningly accurate articulation, masterfully piloted by a team of skilled puppeteers. The lighting and music are beautiful, and I came to love our little seal protagonist as it swam through trials, tribulations, and fun times at sea. There is audience interaction but no forced participation, and a marvelous Q&A section afterward where you can see the puppets up close. I learned so much about marine life and the many ways to make a puppet!
What I didn't like
I felt that some of the vignettes went on a little too long, making some of the choreo repetitive. Also, it would have been nice to have a background or backlight to help differentiate the mama orca’s dorsal fin from the dark theater.
My overall impression
A stunning, immersive marine ballet with beautiful, life-size puppets!
