The performance is so fully embodied. It’s REALLY good drag. This performer also has the ability to hold attention or change the mood in the room, even while being totally still. This show made me ask some really big questions about culpability, community, truth, lies, and judgment… and it’s also really funny!
What I didn't like
Most of the ending was under-lit. I don’t know if that was a technical snafu or a purposeful choice (I saw the preview), but I would have preferred to see the performer’s face while he was still onstage.
My overall impression
A larger-than-life, yet grounded, portrayal of one of America’s great modern villains. It manages to remind us that she was once a human being, without excusing or justifying any of her choices.
