What I liked

One thing that blew me away was Rachel’s ability to seamlessly switch accents—a true testament to her range as a performer. Her dedication and talent shine through every scene.

What I didn't like

I wish it was longer :) Without a doubt, “Too Much of a Good Thing” is my favorite Fringe play of the year. It’s a beautiful, powerful, and insightful piece that will stay with me for a long time.

Highly recommend. Go see it—you won’t regret it.

My overall impression

Seeing “Too Much of a Good Thing” was nothing short of an unforgettable journey into the life of an incredibly talented woman who gave us a raw, intimate look into her experiences and perspective. This play is an absolute must-see for anyone interested in exploring a deeper understanding of body image, sexual assault, and what it’s like to grow up under the male gaze.

The way the show handles these heavy topics is masterful. It’s done so thoughtfully and with such care that every moment resonates with depth, while still offering a lightness through perfect comedic timing. The balance between humor and heart is flawless, never veering into overly heavy or too light. It was a beautiful portrayal of the complexities women face, especially in a world where our experiences are often minimized.

I can’t recommend this show enough, especially for young women. But it’s not just for women. Everyone should see this to witness the conversations we’re having now and how we’re pushing for change. And for men—or anyone who advises them—this play offers an invaluable perspective on what it’s like to walk in a woman’s shoes and navigate a world that can feel so unkind and unrelatable. It’s an eye-opener that sparks empathy and understanding in ways we don’t often see.

The production itself was beyond impressive. The musical elements added so much to the emotional weight of the story, and the special effects were seamless, creating a visually stunning experience. The staging was incredibly well thought out, and the way the story unfolded felt so natural, giving the audience a sense of being a part of it all.
