Medicated Pixie Dream Girl! is a heartfelt and hilarious story told through song, dance, and clown of recently-medicated-pixie-dream-girl Sallie’s affirmation of her own queerness and letting the beans spill while on a call to tell her conservative yet endearingly whimsical mother she is safe during the LA fires.
As an actor and creative performer for decades, Sallie Keena is excited to combine her former life as an indie-folk singer/songwriter, her experience performing everything from self-produced comedy stage shows to Oscar Wilde plays, and her sensitive sensibilities as a very spicy creative processor for her first Fringe show.
Based on a true story, Medicated Pixie Dream Girl! explores themes of love and self-acceptance, celebrating those moments when we throw out our rehearsed script and take the leap to rip the scary truth bandaid off – in this case, during an actual life-or-death scenario while choosing to connect to a once-abusive, narcissistic, no-contact parent.
