The relationship between Will and Muse was alight with specificity and chemistry. Both actors had standout moments with pieces of Shakespeare’s text (Cox with Hamlet and Manon with Merchant of Venice, among others), along with hilarious moments of banter. The writing is sharp and it moves, making the 75 minute runtime fly by.
What I didn't like
I attended the first show and there were moments when the actors were speaking a little too fast and a little too quietly for me. The show’s writing is so clever I want to be able to hear all of it!
My overall impression
Not Without Right is a thoroughly enjoyable and fast paced look at Shakespeare’s canon and personal life. Colin Cox and Alessandra Manon’s clear love and knowledge of Shakespeare shine through in every aspect and can be appreciated whether you are a Shakespeare novice or expert.
