This was such an impressive piece of work. In just 30 minutes, writer Jordyn Caldwell packs in so much heart, humor, and emotional complexity. The cast was fantastic, and the actor playing Booker had some especially great comedic timing that really grounded the story. The dynamic between the two leads felt honest and raw, with moments that hit hard and others that made the whole room laugh.
What I didn't like
No notes. Smart writing, strong performances, and a lot of heart.
My overall impression
Just For the Record is a soulful, funny, and touching play about grief, legacy, and unlikely connection. It challenges the audience to think beyond their own pain and consider what something can mean to a whole community. Jordyn Caldwell is a writer to watch!
