What I liked

(SPOILER ALERT) I was especially moved when the tree mom was taken away and both Mush and Jay gazed into the distance, realizing that the tree had been turned into a canoe. To me, this moment signifies how the mother figures in our lives not only offer us protection and nurture but also can be transformed into vessels that can carry us to a wider world, giving us blessings and support to leave home and chase future journeys.

What I didn't like

I think the scene transition is a little bit distracting and detached from the otherwise cohesive aesthetic of the play, but otherwise really good show!!

My overall impression

I really enjoyed it!! The play has a beautiful, poetic style that masterfully blends a highly imaginative premise with grounded, relatable themes. It made me miss my mom😭
