About the Project
And Then We’ll Rest is a contemporary musical imagining based on Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, focusing on the inner lives of the lesser focused-on women characters. Zoe is in her 20’s and is caretaker of her family home and her mentally ill uncle. When her dad and young stepmom Lena move in suddenly, chaos ensues, especially stirred by another overstaying visitor. In an experience that blends indie concert with theater, We follow Zoe & Lena through their messy relationships with desire, otherness, and reclamation of their own power.
