Really enjoyed the humor and audience participation. The quick lines, and wit, to deal with a blend of situations made the story really engaging and live. This is followed by the props, and the use of them to keep the viewer aware of the physicality and price of feelings and vice.
What I didn't like
There could be some return to the state of Russia on a national level; all the context was given in the 1st act, but never re-visited at a state level later on.
My overall impression
Exploring Post-Soviet Russia through the eyes of Dina, in her one-women show Family Values, was a whirlwind of honest-tragedy-meets-comedy moments. The honesty, which could be seen on her face, tears, and pauses, is set against backdrop of a newly emerging state, and yet, she has managed to have the right timing to engage in the humor of human fallacies. Check it out, it will be funny, and tragic, and maybe at the same time.
