The language of movement and free expression conveyed so much more than what words could. I loved the creative use of the overhead projector and how Pia interacted with its light and shadows. The aerial work was so expressive and felt effortless. And I loved how connected Pia was to her own body, the space, the work, and the audience. I was in awe from start to finish.
What I didn't like
I really can’t think of anything. I just wish more people had purchased tickets.
My overall impression
This show brought me to tears over and over throughout the performance. And so much laughter. Pia is one of the most fully expressed, embodied performers I’ve ever had the opportunity to witness. Without words, she shared her story of her pains, joys, growth, struggles, and acceptance in a visually simple yet stunning way. She’s done incredible healing work in her life, and it shows. I’m planning on seeing this again and hope to bring all my friends to witness this masterpiece. Please do what you can to make it to this show while it’s in LA. You won’t regret it.
