My overall impression
I’ve never seen a single “John Wick” film in my life and it didn’t matter. Woody Fu deliciously lampoons nearly every action movie trope in the book in this hilarious, precise, and completely ridiculous show.
I simply must call out Woody’s impressive pantomiming skills, which really carried the show. Every single movement was perfectly synced up with his exceptional audio track, immediately transporting the audience into the middle of some of the most brutal fight scenes you can fathom.
In addition to Woody’s incredible writing and performance, the moments of audience interaction baked into the show were some of the most trusting and unique setups I’ve seen from any show at HFF. The whole room was on his side from start to finish. I’m so glad I got to finally see this show after hearing about it for so long. It’s worth the hype!
