Loved the framing device of phone calls with mom, where so much exposition could be included without it feeling obvious. Loved the emotional ups and downs. Liked how it all built to the victorious ending .
What I didn't like
Only constructive comment: be careful to keep the sound levels of the songs not too much louder than the rest of the play. With no amplification of the spoken word play, but a LOT of amplification of the guitar and song vocals, there was a disturbing imbalance that was rather annoying, at best.
My overall impression
Felt like we all went on a very tough, and certainly very timely, journey.
