What I liked

Superb storytelling and moving songs. A recording of Rejyna’s daughter played toward the end of the show serves as a wonderful epilogue of all they both gained from the relationship Rejyna fought for and succeeded in preserving.

What I didn't like

Nothing to add here. It was a simply moving story told with courage and honesty.

My overall impression

This true tale of triumph three decades ago is as timely as ever. Rejyna, through her words and beautiful singing powerfully tells her story of her fierce fight for custodial rights of her child, as she went through a messy divorce while transitioning. This was at a time when gender dysphoria was not widely recognized. It reminds us of how far we have come since then, and how we must never go back.
