Adedana is a gifted storyteller with the elusive ability to seamlessly slip between funny and vulnerable. ‘Grief Baby’s First Road Trip" is a once in a lifetime adventure that’s almost like a grief-driven, real life, Wizard of Oz. While Adedana speaks her truth on the stage, you can’t help but get wrapped up in her words and swept away on this journey with her. Not only is she hilarious, insightful, and a deep well of experience, she is also fiercely likeable. I found myself truly wanting this woman to win. I wanted her to get absolutely everything she’s looking for. The way the story is structured is easy to follow without being juvenile, and you truly do laugh, cry, and laugh again, thinking of your own lost loved ones and the grief babies you’ve nurtured over the years. Insanely well done and i sincerely wish to see it again in the future
What I didn't like
Nothing at all it was lovely!
My overall impression
This show is for late bloomers, people who have experienced loss, and anyone living and breathing. The concept of a “grief baby” is one that will stay with me for the rest of my life. This was a beautifully told story that has wide appeal and can/will be relatable to a wide variety of people. No elaborate set, or costumes, no bells or whistles at all. Just one deeply human and wonderfully funny woman taking you on a journey of love, loss, adventure, and meaning.
