The 2025 Hollywood Fringe Production of The Pyrex is a Staged Reading Event.
Ying-Ai, the beloved matriarch of a Taiwanese American family, has made a final decision: she’s going to end her life on her own terms. As her loved ones gather around her— her overwhelmed husband, her estranged sister, and her adult children determined to mobilize— a chaotic, tender reckoning unfolds.
Part play, part oral history, The Pyrex draws from hours of interviews with the playwright’s family members to capture the unfiltered rhythms of real people in an unreal moment.
