Adam and Conor perfectly walked that tightrope of awkwardness that gives rise to silly absurdist humor, without ever becoming more awkward than funny. All the skits remained consistently funny throughout. Adam and Conor have perfect comic timing and delivery as they deliver their lines naturally, even as the dialogue grows increasingly ridiculous.
The titles in black and white that preceded each skit on a projector screen were in the style of silent movies captions, and were a nice touch that played homage to the classic comedy duos of yore.
What I didn't like
As with all sketch shows, it is presumed that some skits will be found to be funnier than others. All the skits were good, but I have to say the lighthouse piece was my favorite. I talked to other audience members after the show, and it seemed that people had different favorites. What this means is that there is something for everyone in this show. Come see which skit is your favorite.
My overall impression
From Laurel & Hardy to Abbott & Costello, I’ve always enjoyed a good comedy duo. Adam and Conor do justice to the form as they as act out a series of absurd scenarios, each alternating between playing the straight man and the loose cannon—wildly imagined characters which include a hole-digging lighthouse keeper, a trauma-dumping sommelier, and a creepy vasectomy doctor.
