What I liked
The direction and acting was absolutely wondrous, with the cast not only sinking into their characters but pacing out the material magnificently. Funny bits were ramped up in energy and speed, dramatic exchanges were slowed down to allow the characters to breathe and soak in the scene to perfection. This fueled a tightrope balancing act of a tone throughout the hour, with the team managing to balance a wealth of characters, topics, and serious material. Final note: I loved that the characters and situations were funny, but the characters themselves were never treated as jokes.
What I didn't like
It’s tough to say, I liked it all, and it’s a preview and can only imagine how fierce and funny this will run on their closing night!
My overall impression
A refreshing return to the “water-cooler” talk sitcom era, with a cast of colorful characters you can’t help but want to follow past curtain. A fun time out!
