About the Project
Duende is the story of a family’s intense interaction with an elemental entity. Bennie and Mindy, parents of a blended family in the 1980’s, experience frightening incidents with no idea or context as to what is happening. Candice, their young daughter, has unintentionally created an altar and evoked the Duende with catastrophic results. The situation offers no answers as invisible forces act whether or not the people in their path are aware of their nature. An exploration of spiritual appropriation, magikal abuse, and the bonds within a blended family, the Duende wrecks havoc with those who do not respect its elemental power.
