Lord help me, where do I even start? From the jump, you can tell that something bizarre is lurking just beneath the surface of what is stylized to be your traditional one-room drama. There is nothing traditional about the Amazing Sex Life of Rabbits. The situation only continues to escalate to more bizarre and harrowing heights, to the point where I had to ask, “are they really going there?”
The answer is “yes.” They are going there. And it is a delight.
Of course, the insanity wouldn’t land nearly as hard if our two leads weren’t so grounded, responding to each new revelation in ways that feel completely understandable and human. As you watch them come to grips about what is to be done, every action comes from a place that makes emotional sense, adding an anvil’s worth of weight to the dilemmas they face.
Special mention must go to Richardson whose every movement, every line, every expression, was so perfect for the character of Carson it feels almost like destiny. No, I don’t think I’ll elaborate further on that, thank you.
