I’ve had the great pleasure of watching Dan Braswell develop this show for a year and a half now. In that time, I’ve seen it take many different shapes and sizes, but always it’s been tender, touching and never not fun to watch. Tonight, however, it was also, at times, heartbreaking.
What I didn't like
Maybe needed some tightening up around plot transitions, just to give it a moment to breathe, but for a show about new parenthood, maybe the fact that there’s never a minute that’s not busy is the point.
My overall impression
Open, honest and deeply vulnerable, Braswell does the near impossible here, proving that clown can be not only a force for good, but genuine. This is a show to be treasured.
