The pacing. Grounded character moments. Water effects.
What I didn't like
No complaints. Everything felt intentional.
My overall impression
Grace and Christopher embark on a “four hour cruise” that hammers at something real.
Deckhand – while hilarious – is grounded by stellar performances. I feel like I’ve seen this conversation erupt at The Grove and their range and commitment brought it to life. It kept me so invested. It helped make all the pain and frustrations and mania so earned and also- exquisite. So delightful.
If you’ve ever worked a nine to five or two to ten or four to one and expected more after years of soul grinding service, then you will find catharsis here. The lunch special is laughter and they’re generous with the spoon.
